Wembanyama: 52 points, a 50/20/5 feat and Parker’s mark

His career high against Dallas finished three points short of Tony Parker’s French NBA record.

Victor Wembanyama scored 52 points, collected 24 rebounds, blocked eight shots and made two steals as the San Antonio Spurs beat the Dallas Mavericks 112–111 on November 4, 2026. The 52 points are his new career high, but not the most ever scored by a French player in an NBA game: Tony Parker still holds that mark with 55.

The short answer on the records

The performance produced three distinct claims. Wembanyama set a new career scoring high; reached the rare combination of at least 50 points, 20 rebounds and five blocks; and finished three points short of Parker’s French record.

The reviewed sources disagree about the rebounds. Basket USA describes 24 as a new career high, while 20 Minutes says he tied his previous best. The 52-point high is therefore unambiguous; the description of the 24 rebounds requires that caveat.

The complete stat line

Wembanyama finished with 52 points, 24 rebounds, eight blocks, two steals and two assists in 34 minutes. He made 16 of 28 shots, one of eight 3-point attempts and 19 of 23 free throws. He also grabbed nine offensive rebounds and committed one turnover.

The Mavericks’ official report also credits him with seven dunks. By halftime, the French player already had 29 points, 15 rebounds, five blocks and two steals while going 15-for-15 at the free-throw line.

Why the 50/20/5 line is historic

According to Basket USA, Wembanyama became only the second player since 1973–74—the season in which the NBA began officially recording blocks—to reach 50 points, 20 rebounds and five blocks in one game. The 20 Minutes report identifies Bob McAdoo, in 1974, as the last player to reach those thresholds.

This is an achievement based on a combination of statistical categories, not an all-time NBA scoring record. The eight blocks make the game especially unusual, but they do not turn the 52 points into a French record.

How the Spurs won by one

San Antonio led 68–51 at halftime and pushed the advantage to 19 points. Dallas recovered and moved ahead 103–100 before Wembanyama tied the game with his only 3-pointer of the night.

With the score at 111–111, he made one of two free throws with 24.2 seconds remaining. It was the game’s final point. Kyrie Irving missed Dallas’ last shot, and the Spurs secured a 112–111 victory—their sixth straight, according to the NBA recap.

Why Tony Parker remains ahead

Parker scored 55 points in a game that required two overtime periods. Wembanyama had previously scored 50 against the Washington Wizards in 2024; his 52 against Dallas surpassed that career high but left him three points behind his countryman.

The games’ different lengths provide context without changing the record. For points by a French player in a single NBA game, Parker remains the leader. What changed for Wembanyama was his personal scoring record and his membership in an exceptionally small statistical group.

How to distinguish each mark

The most accurate wording is this: Wembanyama had a career-high scoring night and produced a historic 50/20/5 performance, but did not break the French scoring record. For the 24 rebounds, the consulted reports differ on whether it was a new high or a tie of his prior best.

That distinction matters because “record” can mean an individual career best, a rare statistical combination or the historic lead in a category. Here, each phrase answers a different question.
