There is no Sprint at the 2026 São Paulo Grand Prix. On Saturday, November 7, Formula 1 holds third practice from 11:30am to 12:30pm and qualifying from 3pm to 4pm. The race starts on Sunday, November 8, at 2pm. These are São Paulo local times (UTC−3), as listed in the organizer’s official schedule.

Why Interlagos has no Sprint in 2026
São Paulo is not among this season’s six Sprint venues. The official Formula 1 calendar identifies China, Miami, Canada, Great Britain, the Netherlands and Singapore as the rounds using the short-race format. Brazil appears on November 6–8 without the “Sprint” designation.
Interlagos has therefore returned to a conventional Grand Prix weekend. Rather than a single practice session followed by Sprint qualifying on Friday, the opening day contained two practice sessions. Saturday combines third practice with qualifying for the Grand Prix grid, while the main race remains on Sunday.
This distinction matters because schedules from previous editions can still surface in searches and shared posts. Any timetable mentioning a Sprint or Sprint qualifying in São Paulo does not apply to 2026. The FIA timing section lists first, second and third practice, qualifying and the race, consistent with the traditional format.

What happens on Saturday
Formula 1 activity begins with third practice from 11:30am to 12:30pm. It is the final preparation session before qualifying, scheduled for 3pm–4pm. There is no short F1 race between them.
Support categories also use the track. According to the promoter’s timetable, Saturday features a Brazilian F4 Championship race from 10:10am to 10:45am, a Porsche Carrera Brazil race from 12:30pm to 1:02pm and a second F4 race from 4:40pm to 5:15pm. None is an F1 Sprint.
The label beside each activity is the simplest way to distinguish them: “F1” marks the main championship sessions, while support-event labels identify the other series. Timings may change following decisions by the organizer or race control. Check the official channels again before travelling or planning around a particular session.

When Sunday’s race starts
The Formula 1 MSC Cruises Grande Prêmio de São Paulo 2026 starts at 2pm on Sunday, November 8, in São Paulo time (UTC−3). The organizer’s schedule specifies 71 laps. Before the start, it includes three support races: F4 at 8:50am, Porsche Sprint Brazil at 9:45am and Porsche Carrera Cup Brazil at 10:45am. The F1 drivers’ parade is scheduled for noon.
The official Formula 1 event page says the Autódromo José Carlos Pace is 4.309 km long and gives a scheduled race distance of 305.879 km. International pages may adapt displayed times to a user’s settings, so the unambiguous reference here is the organizer’s published local timetable.
Readers outside Brazil should convert from UTC−3 or use Formula 1’s official local-time setting. No broadcaster, subscription or television availability is stated because those details vary by country and no territorial broadcast source has been verified for the United States, Canada or the United Kingdom.

Track, Fanzone and support series have separate schedules
The F1 Fanzone takes place at the Kartódromo Ayrton Senna, while the Grand Prix is contested at Interlagos. Saturday’s Fanzone schedule includes stage activities and an Os Paralamas do Sucesso performance at 4:10pm. The area shows track activity on a large screen but has no direct view of the circuit; its ticket does not grant access to grandstands or internal areas of the autodrome.
The circuit gates are listed as opening at 8am, with admission until 3pm on all three days. Fanzone gates open at 8am. The organizer warns that these times may change. Existing ticket holders should review the rules for their sector and the official public-information page before travelling.
The organizer also says Grand Prix tickets for the circuit are sold out. That should not be confused with Fanzone admission, which has separate conditions and is subject to capacity. One area is not a substitute for the other.
How to verify the correct timetable
Use the date, session name and time zone as three checks. For Saturday, look for “November 7,” third practice at 11:30am and qualifying at 3pm, all in UTC−3. For Sunday, the central detail is “November 8, 2pm,” also UTC−3.
Disregard schedules that include a Sprint at Interlagos or are marked as 2025 programming. If operational changes occur, the newest notices from the promoter, Formula 1 and the FIA take precedence. The remaining weekend is straightforward: Saturday has practice, qualifying and support races; Sunday has preliminary activities and the Grand Prix at 2pm São Paulo time.
