Como beat Manchester United 4–1 in the Champions League

Nicolás Paz scored twice and assisted Douvikas on league-phase matchday three.

Como beat Manchester United 4–1 on October 21, 2026, at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia on matchday three of the Champions League league phase. Nicolás Paz was the central figure: he scored in the 2nd and 57th minutes and supplied the pass for Anastasios Douvikas to score the second. Ramon added another before Joshua Zirkzee replied in the 90th minute.

Who scored in Como’s 4–1 win over Manchester United

The official Como 1907 match report records the full sequence: Paz opened the scoring in the 2nd minute; Douvikas struck in the 49th; Paz scored again in the 57th; Ramon added the fourth in the 76th; and Zirkzee scored for United in the 90th.

The same source identifies the fixture as a matchday-three game played at the Sinigaglia on October 21. Manchester United’s website also presents the final score as “Como 4 United 1.”

The early breakthrough changed the game

The opening goal arrived after only two minutes. According to the Italian club, Paz finished with his left foot to put Como ahead. The score remained 1–0 at halftime before the home side added three goals in the second half.

In the 49th minute, an exchange involving Da Cunha, Baturina and Paz ended with the Argentine finding Douvikas. The striker finished with his right foot to make it 2–0. That move defines Paz’s exact contribution: alongside his two goals, he assisted the second.

Paz completed a decisive performance

The third goal followed eight minutes later. Como’s report says Paz won the ball near the touchline, advanced and placed a left-footed finish close to the post. It gave him two goals and one assist in the match.

Ramon headed in Kaiki’s cross in the 76th minute to make it 4–0. Zirkzee, introduced during the second half, scored Manchester United’s only goal in the 90th minute. The source does not describe it as a stoppage-time goal, so the accurate record is simply the 90th minute.

United’s three European results

UEFA’s official fixture and results list provides United’s record after three matchdays:

  • September 10: Manchester United 4–0 Sabah;
  • October 13: Atlético de Madrid 2–0 Manchester United;
  • October 21: Como 4–1 Manchester United.

That amounts to one win and two defeats, with five goals scored and six conceded. This tally is simply the sum of the three scorelines; it does not, by itself, establish United’s table position or qualification prospects.

What the result establishes

The key sporting facts are clear: Como earned their second win in three matches, while United suffered a second consecutive defeat in the competition. Como had previously beaten Leipzig 4–1 and lost 3–2 to Feyenoord, results also listed by UEFA.

The sources used here offer no basis for attributing the loss to internal turmoil, predicting dismissals or anticipating decisions by the English club. The reliable reading is limited to what the documentation confirms: the score, goal sequence, Paz’s contribution and the campaign through matchday three.

Next Champions League fixtures

UEFA’s list schedules Manchester United v Roma for November 3 and Lens v Como for November 4, both on matchday four. Dates and fixtures can change, so check the competition’s official page before making plans to follow either match.
