Nebraska vs. Illinois: Friday game and how to watch in the US

Kickoff is set for Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. Central in Champaign, with national coverage on FOX.

Nebraska visits Illinois on Friday, Nov. 6, 2026, at 7 p.m. Central Time. The game will take place at Gies Memorial Stadium in Champaign, Illinois. In the United States, the confirmed broadcast is on FOX, with streaming through FOX One. Nebraska’s official schedule lists Illinois as its next opponent following a 17–10 loss to Washington on Oct. 31.

Date, kickoff time and venue

The game starts on Nov. 6 at the following times across the continental United States:

  • 8 p.m. Eastern Time (ET)
  • 7 p.m. Central Time (CT)
  • 6 p.m. Mountain Time (MT)
  • 5 p.m. Pacific Time (PT)

FOX confirms the date, the ET and PT times, and Gies Memorial Stadium. The CT and MT listings are conversions of that same confirmed start time. Illinois will be the home team in Champaign.

Why Nebraska is playing on Friday

Fans looking for Nebraska on Saturday, Nov. 7, will not find this matchup. The game, originally scheduled for Saturday, was moved forward by one day.

Nebraska Athletics says the change was announced as part of FOX Sports’ Friday night package. Illinois likewise placed the matchup in its schedule update for the FOX College Football Friday package. The unusual date is therefore tied to the Big Ten and FOX television schedule, rather than being an unexplained calendar change.

This will be the teams’ third Friday night meeting in four seasons. Nebraska won in Champaign in 2023, while Illinois won an overtime game in Lincoln in 2024.

How to watch in the United States

FOX is the confirmed US television outlet. The network also lists FOX One as the official streaming option for the game.

Access to the channel and stream varies by location, subscription and provider. FOX advertises a promotional offer on its page, but it should not be treated as universally available. Viewers should check the current terms on the official game page before kickoff.

These viewing details apply to the United States. They do not establish availability through the same channel or platform in Brazil, Spain, France or other territories.

What the official schedules confirm

Nebraska’s updated schedule lists the road game at Illinois for Friday at 7 p.m. Central in Champaign. The same page gives Nebraska a 5–3 record entering the matchup, following three consecutive losses.

Illinois’ official schedule update identifies the venue as Gies Memorial Stadium. It also shows that Nebraska begins a run of two Friday games for the Fighting Illini, who are scheduled to play UCLA on Nov. 13.

How to avoid a game-day mix-up

The simplest approach is to look for Nebraska–Illinois on Friday night, not among Saturday’s college football listings. The original announcement used 7 p.m. CT, while Nebraska’s schedule displays 7 p.m. CST. On Nov. 6, both references point to Central Standard Time and the same 8 p.m. ET kickoff.

Schedules and viewing information can change. Check Nebraska’s official schedule and the FOX game page again before kickoff.
