PlayStation Store: three dates to track Black Friday

The campaign opens November 4, refreshes November 16, and may drop discounts before its overall November 30 close.

The PlayStation Store’s 2026 Black Friday campaign will not keep one fixed selection through its final day. For US shoppers, the practical calendar is to check the store on November 4, return after the November 16 refresh, and review individual product deadlines before November 20. The promotion as a whole continues through November 30, but that does not guarantee that every discount will remain available.

November 4: the full list and prices reach the store

The campaign begins November 4 at 12:00 a.m. PST in the United States, according to the official PlayStation announcement. Sony says thousands of PS5, PS4 and PS VR2 games, expansions and DLC will be discounted, with savings advertised at up to 75%.

“Up to 75%” is the promotion’s ceiling, not a promised reduction on every item. Sony explicitly says that the promotion and discount percentages may differ by region. The complete list and item-level prices are due to appear on the PlayStation Store when the event starts, so the preview alone cannot establish what any particular US edition will cost.

Use that first visit to confirm three details on the product page: the exact edition, the price attached to your US account and the offer’s expiration date. A percentage shown in another regional store should not be treated as a US price or guarantee.

November 16: part of the offer selection changes

The sale refreshes at 12:00 a.m. PST on November 16. Sony also says some deals will be replaced with new offers. The storefront visible on opening day therefore is not necessarily the complete selection shoppers will see throughout the month.

If a wanted title is missing on November 4, the refresh provides a clear reason to look again. If it is already discounted, however, the refresh does not guarantee that its price will survive unchanged. The product page remains the relevant source for that particular offer’s duration.

Digital Citizen characterizes the event as two sales in one because the midmonth change divides the campaign into distinct waves. That is a useful way to plan store visits without assuming that every advertised item belongs to both waves.

November 20: some discounts expire early

The most important exception to the November 30 closing date arrives on November 20. The official notice says certain discounts end at 11:59 p.m. PST that day, while some deals are replaced with new ones. The Beebom report also highlights this early expiration and the regional variation in offers.

That does not mean every first-wave deal ends on November 20. Sony has not identified all affected products in the preview, and the complete US catalog and prices were not yet disclosed. It means shoppers should not use the campaign’s final date as the deadline for an individual game without checking its listing.

If you plan to postpone a purchase, revisit the product page before November 20 and note the time printed there. That item-level information is more useful than the broad sale banner.

November 30 closes the campaign, not every deal

The overall event ends November 30 at 11:59 p.m. PST. It is the final boundary for the campaign, but it does not preserve every discount shown earlier in November. A price can expire on the 20th or be affected by the changing selection.

The announcement also does not confirm Black Friday discounts for PS5 consoles, controllers, PS VR2 hardware or PlayStation Plus subscriptions. Its disclosed scope covers digital PS5, PS4 and PS VR2 games, expansions and DLC. Until an eligible item and its price appear in the US store, neither should be promised.

A short checklist for timing a decision

On November 4, open the pages for the games you want and check the price, edition and expiration. On November 16, look for newly added or replacement offers. Before November 20, revisit anything you are considering postponing. Treat November 30 only as the campaign-wide close, never as a universal item deadline.

This approach does not require buying on day one. It separates each product’s actual deadline from the event’s broader marketing window. Since the catalog, percentages and conditions vary by region, confirm them on the official PlayStation Store page linked by Sony before purchasing.
