“Random” does not let you choose a version, member, or photocard unless the listing expressly offers that option. “Set” does not automatically mean “every version,” either: it guarantees only the products expressly listed in the offer. Before buying, save the product page and distinguish among three situations: an unwanted random result, promised content that is missing, and a physical defect.

Random describes the method, not your preferred result
With a random offer, the store selects from the stated alternatives. The BTS “ARIRANG” (Random) listing says the album’s random items are included with equal probability. That means equal chances among the described options, but it is not a promise of a particular member, variety across multiple units, or no duplicates.
If two purchases contain the same photocard or version, the repetition may be disappointing, but it is not inherently a defect. A discrepancy would require the listing to promise different units, an anti-duplication mechanism, or a choice. The supplied text on the official random-edition page makes none of those guarantees.
The word “random” may apply to the album, an insert, or only one inclusion. Identify exactly what it modifies. A fixed version may contain a random photocard; a random product may leave the entire version to chance. The title alone does not replace the contents list.

A set is defined by its written composition
“Set” signals a commercial bundle, but its scope depends on the description. In the official BTS “ARIRANG” example, the set listing names three products: *Rooted in Korea Ver.*, *Rooted in Music Ver.*, and *Living Legend Ver.*. That list—not a general idea of a complete collection—defines what the buyer should receive.
A set does not necessarily remove internal randomness. The same page says the album’s random items have equal probability. A bundle can therefore guarantee the named versions while leaving photocards or other inclusions to chance.
Before paying, check four concrete details: the number of units in the composition, the versions named, the inclusions supplied with each unit, and whether promotional gifts belong to the product or to a separate campaign. If a version is not written in the list, do not assume “set” includes it.

Duplicates, defects, and missing items are different cases
A duplicate consistent with the random mechanism is a possible result, not a material fault. A defect is damage or a problem with the product; a missing item is a promised component that did not arrive. This distinction matters because the cited Weverse policy says random products can be exchanged only when defective.
For that specific operation, the official purchase and pickup guide also says minor scratches caused during finishing, dents of 5 mm or less, fine scratches, and ink splatters are not grounds for an exchange. That rule belongs to the offer and process described in the notice; it should not automatically be applied to another store.
An album different from the advertisement, a missing version from an enumerated set, or an absent promised component may constitute a mismatch with the offer. Under the notice, the seller covers shipping costs for defects or mismatches, while the customer pays them for a change-of-mind return.
Outer boxes and gifts may receive different treatment
Packaging requires careful reading. On the random and set “ARIRANG” pages, Weverse says the outbox protects the actual product and that damage occurring during delivery is not eligible for exchange or refund. A mark limited to that box may therefore be treated differently from damage to the album or its contents.
A gift should not be confused with a standard inclusion. In the Munich pickup guide, the number of promotional photocards varied by the format purchased, and gifts could run out early. This specific condition illustrates why shoppers should save the campaign page: a promotional benefit may have separate inventory and rules.
Compare the missing piece with the correct list. If it appears in the permanent composition, treat it as product content. If it appears only under “special gift,” also preserve the terms, period, and qualification attached to the campaign.
Evidence to keep when opening the parcel
Save screenshots of the title, selected variant, contents list, and exchange terms in force when you buy. Keep the order confirmation, receipt, and shipping label. On delivery, photograph every side of the parcel before opening it and record one continuous video showing the seal, opening, and each component.
Do not use, discard, or separate items while a claim may be necessary. The Weverse notice describes restrictions when components have been used, lost, damaged through handling, or returned incomplete. It also says that opening the packaging of copyable products, including albums and photocards, may prevent returns in certain circumstances.
Do not submit only “the order was wrong.” Provide the order number, purchased product and option, the promised item that is missing or the defective area, and clear images. For a random product, acknowledge when the outcome was merely not the one wanted; focus the claim on a documented discrepancy.
Check the applicable rule before paying
The pages say cancellation, refund, and payment policies depend on the seller’s country or region. The pickup notice has its own deadlines and procedures, including contact through Weverse Help after the operation period. Conditions may change and should not be transferred to another product, seller, or territory.
The safest decision comes from reading literally: random identifies what is left to chance; set supplies the enumerated composition; and the offer’s policy defines defects, packaging damage, and promotional gifts. Always check the official links and save the version valid at the time of purchase.
