In Tenerife, rain on November 1 led to the confirmed closure of the Auditorio de Tenerife, Heliodoro Rodríguez López stadium, Pabellón Santiago Martín, Recinto Ferial, TEA, and trails and forest tracks in Anaga. La Laguna’s Zombie Walk was canceled. A specific refund procedure was published for the suspended TEA screening; the other cited sources did not provide a general ticket-refund process.
Conditions may change as the weather develops. Before traveling, check the responsible institution’s notice and official emergency channels.

A warning does not automatically close the entire island
The Government of the Canary Islands declared a rain alert for Tenerife’s metropolitan area from midnight on Sunday, November 1, 2026. The rest of the island was under pre-alert. This territorial distinction matters: a weather warning alone does not establish that every venue in Tenerife is closed.
The official outlook indicated locally heavy rain, potentially reaching or exceeding 30 millimeters in one hour in the metropolitan area. Instability could continue over the western islands on Monday, November 2, and extend into the early hours of Tuesday, November 3. The authority also stressed uncertainty over the location, intensity and persistence of the rainfall.
The AEMET page should be checked for current forecasts and warnings. It explains that automated maps, forecaster-produced texts and official warnings may differ, so readers should note which product and displayed time they are viewing.

Which facilities remained closed
In an update published at 4:30 p.m. on November 1, RTVC reported that island-run cultural, sports and public-assembly facilities in the metropolitan area remained closed when their use involved travel between municipalities. The list included:
- Auditorio de Tenerife;
- Heliodoro Rodríguez López stadium;
- Pabellón Santiago Martín;
- Recinto Ferial.
The same update reported the closure of municipal facilities and suspension of that Sunday’s scheduled activities in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. In Tegueste, all municipal facilities were closed and activities organized or authorized by the municipality were suspended after its emergency plan was activated at 2 p.m., a time reported by the source without an explicit time zone.
These measures do not establish the status of museums, cinemas or privately run spaces absent from the notices. Confirmation for those venues must come from their organizers.

TEA: canceled screening and documented refund process
TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes suspended all activities from 10 a.m. on November 1 — a time given by the museum without an explicit time zone — and announced that it would remain closed until further notice.
The 7 p.m. screening of “Volcania, vida en Marte” was suspended. People who had already purchased a ticket must email tea@tenerife.es and include their ticket number so the museum can process a refund of the amount paid.
That instruction applies to this screening’s ticket. It should not automatically be applied to events at the Auditorio, stadium, arena or other organizers. If no instructions have been published, keep the purchase confirmation and contact the official seller or responsible institution.

Zombie Walk canceled in La Laguna
The Festival Isla Calavera canceled the Isla Calavera Zombie Walk scheduled for November 1 in La Laguna’s historic center. The cancellation also covered the preliminary activities and the walk through the streets.
The announcement cited the weather risk and safety recommendations. It did not provide a new date or a refund procedure, so there is no basis to state that the activity will be rescheduled or that a related payment will be refunded.
Anaga and Teide have different restrictions
Trails and forest tracks in Parque Rural de Anaga, together with affected recreation areas, remained closed in the RTVC update. The official advice was not to enter trails, tracks or spaces subject to restrictions.
At Teide, the measure was narrower: access to the peak was restricted via seven trails — PNT 07, 09, 10, 11, 12, 23 and 28 — because of ice and snow above 2,700 meters. The source recorded an exception for experienced mountaineers carrying suitable winter equipment. The restriction would remain until revoked by a new resolution from the island’s natural-environment authority.
Anaga and Teide therefore should not be treated as one blanket closure. Visitors need to check the resolution covering their intended route and must not assume that an exception for one area applies elsewhere.
What to do before traveling or requesting a refund
First identify the body managing the venue or the seller that issued the ticket. Then check for a notice published after November 1. A weather alert signals risk, but confirmation of a closure, reopening or refund must come from the competent authority or organizer.
In the sources available for this article, TEA was the only case with a clearly published refund procedure. For the other facilities and events, the evidence does not support promises of refunds, reopening on a set date or automatic ticket transfers. Because instability could continue into November 2 or 3, verify the status through the official link immediately before traveling.
