UEFA: map of European finals confirmed for 2027–2029

Anyone looking for the locations of the next European finals can now place eleven competition, city and year combinations on the map. UEFA has selected venues for deciders from 2027 to 2029, from Amsterdam to Astana, covering men’s competitions, the Women’s Champions League and the Futsal Champions League. The list does not mean that sales have opened: the consulted sources give no exact dates, ticket procedures or prices.

UEFA’s complete announced map

The choices were made by the UEFA Executive Committee at a meeting in Thessaloniki, Greece. The governing body’s official consolidated list contains eleven venue decisions:

The total reaches eleven because the 2027 futsal decision joins five selections for 2028 and four for 2029, as well as the 2027 Super Cup.

Champions League returns to Munich and Barcelona

The 2028 men’s final will take place at Munich Football Arena. The stadium hosted the 2012 and 2025 Champions League finals, six UEFA EURO 2024 matches and the 2025 Nations League final. In 2029, the decider will move to Camp Nou, which previously staged European Cup or Champions League finals in 1989 and 1999. The competition’s dedicated page also records Madrid’s Estadio Metropolitano as the 2027 host.

For planning purposes, these three years should be kept distinct: Madrid was already part of the 2027 calendar, while Munich and Barcelona are the announced choices for 2028 and 2029.

Women’s Champions League heads to Lyon and Cardiff

OL Stadium in Décines will host the 2028 women’s final. Home to OL Lyonnes, it opened in January 2016, staged six UEFA EURO 2016 matches and hosted the 2018 Europa League final.

In 2029, the event will move to the National Stadium of Wales in Cardiff. The venue hosted the 2017 men’s Champions League final, regularly stages matches involving the Welsh football and rugby national teams and will host six UEFA EURO 2028 games. According to the Women’s Champions League venue calendar, the 2027 final will be played at Warsaw’s National Stadium in May of that year.

Super Cup links Amsterdam and Astana

Johan Cruyff ArenA will host the 2027 Super Cup. Ajax’s home ground staged the 1998 Champions League final, the 2013 Europa League final and matches at EURO 2000 and EURO 2020.

The 2028 edition will take place at Astana Arena. The stadium hosted FC Astana’s 2015/16 Champions League games when the club reached the group stage. It will be the first Super Cup held in Kazakhstan; the Netherlands has not staged the competition since 1995, when it was still played over two legs. Conference League travels through Turin and Budapest

Juventus Stadium, built on the site of the former Stadio delle Alpi and opened in 2011, will host the 2028 Conference League final. It previously staged the 2014 Europa League final, games in the 2021 Nations League finals and the 2022 Women’s Champions League final.

In 2029, the competition will go to Puskás Aréna. Opened in 2019, the Budapest arena hosted the 2020 Super Cup, the 2023 Europa League final and the 2026 Champions League final. With the 2029 decider, it will become the first stadium to host the finals of UEFA’s three current senior men’s club competitions. UEFA also lists Istanbul as the 2027 Conference League host.

What still needs confirmation

On the pages consulted, UEFA provides years, cities and stadiums but gives no exact dates for these eleven deciders or details about ticket sales, batches, prices or allocations. A venue selection can therefore help supporters assess possible destinations and years, but it is not yet enough to build an itinerary around a match.
