If you bought an album, light stick, photobook or other official K-pop product abroad, monitor the shipment through tracking and Minhas Importações. If a tax, postal service charge or document request appears, handle it through the official Correios website or app. Do not assume taxes were included at checkout: confirm what the store charged and check the parcel record after it enters the Brazilian process.

Before buying: check the recipient’s details
Every parcel arriving from another country is treated as an import. According to Correios, it must be associated with a CPF in good standing, and the recipient’s name must match the Receita Federal record. Enter the name, CPF and address carefully at the store, including for album preorders and fan-club editions.
Keep the order confirmation, product description, proof of payment, commercial invoice, and freight and insurance amounts when applicable. These records may be required if inspectors request information or if you challenge the tax calculation. Before ordering, also check the import prohibitions and restrictions identified by Correios.
What is in the cart matters. An album with inclusions, a light stick and clothing remain subject to assessment of the declared goods and documents. A product’s popularity or a store’s “official” label does not remove the customs process.

An international checkout does not guarantee paid taxes
Some stores display taxes during payment; others charge only for the goods and shipping. The final screen and invoice should clearly identify what was collected. If that information is absent, do not treat the checkout price as the final cost.
The Correios page says that, under the Simplified Taxation Regime, postal shipments with a customs value of up to US$3,000 may be cleared with an Import Tax of up to 60%. The stated basis includes the value of the goods, transport and insurance when these are not included in the product price. ICMS may also apply under the law of the destination state, as may a charge for the service supporting customs processing and, where rules are breached, a fine.
This means you cannot calculate every order merely by multiplying the album price by a percentage. Shipping, insurance, shipment classification and ICMS may also affect the total. As rules and charges can change, consult Receita Federal’s International Purchases Portal, which brings together current rules, a calculator, a manual and information on Remessa Conforme.
Tracking and Minhas Importações serve different purposes
Tracking shows the parcel’s movement and status. Minhas Importações, in turn, centralizes customs-clearance actions: linking the parcel to a CPF or CNPJ, viewing requests from the responsible authorities, submitting documents and generating payments. Access requires a Meu Correios account.
After receiving the tracking number from the store or carrier, check it through official channels. Also open Minhas Importações to see whether the item is linked to your CPF. Keeping your address, telephone number and email current in Meu Correios helps prevent inconsistencies, but it does not replace regular checks.
According to Correios, the status “em fiscalização aduaneira” means the parcel is not yet in the postal company’s possession. Receita Federal and other competent authorities conduct this stage; Correios says it cannot speed it up or provide a completion deadline.
Where to pay without falling for a fake message
Once the system makes a charge available, pay through a bank slip or Pix generated inside Minhas Importações or the official Correios app. An SMS may alert you if the phone number appears on the label, but you do not need to wait for a message. Open the website or app yourself instead of following a link received by text, email or social media.
Correios states that taxes and/or the postal clearance service must be paid within 20 calendar days of the charge becoming available. Without payment during that period, the parcel is sent back abroad. Check the deadline shown in your own case and the official rules, as operating conditions may be updated.
If customs requests documents
Receita Federal or another consenting authority may request additional information during clearance. Documents are submitted electronically through Minhas Importações. Read the request before attaching files and send mutually consistent records: item descriptions and quantities, price, shipping, insurance and proof of payment.
The published guidance warns that information or documents may be submitted only once. Do not answer with a partial screenshot if the request calls for the full invoice. The inspection authorities decide whether the goods are admissible and compliant.
How to challenge the amount before payment
If you disagree with the Import Tax assessed, request a review in Minhas Importações before generating the bank slip or paying by Pix. Receita Federal reviews the request; Correios neither manages the decision nor provides a deadline for completion.
The review may require the store page showing a detailed description, quantity, price, shipping and insurance, plus proof of payment and the commercial invoice. Under the Correios guidance, the request remains available until the payment deadline, and documents may be submitted only once. Organize everything before confirming.
A short sequence to keep the parcel from being returned
Before ordering, verify the CPF, name and address, and save the checkout terms. After dispatch, obtain the tracking number and monitor both tracking and Minhas Importações. If a request appears, assemble the complete documentation. If there is a charge, verify it in the official environment; challenge it before payment when necessary, or pay within the displayed deadline. After clearance, follow the delivery estimate in tracking. If that period ends without delivery even after payment, Correios advises filing a customer-service request through its portal.
This process is a reference for international K-pop purchases, but it does not replace an individual assessment of each shipment. Always check the official pages on the dates of purchase and clearance.
